Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
Adanotch is built to keep your data on your Mac. This policy explains what stays local, the small amount of information that reaches Adanotch ("we", "us"), and your rights. Adanotch has no user accounts and shows no ads.
1. What stays on your Mac
Clipboard history, notes, bookmarks, shelf files, calendar events, music information and settings are processed and stored only on your Mac. We never receive them. Content from password managers and the Keychain is never stored in clipboard history.
AI limits are read from sessions already signed in on your Mac. Adanotch does not send those credentials or usage figures to our servers.
2. What the app sends to us
- License activation and periodic checks: your license key, an anonymous identifier derived from your Mac (a hash, not a serial number), your Mac's name as shown in the license list, and the app version.
- Feedback you choose to send: the kind and text of your message, your e-mail if you enter one, basic system information (macOS version, Mac model, app version, number of extensions) and, only if you tick the box, Adanotch's own log lines from the last 24 hours.
- Update checks: the app downloads the update feed from download.adanotch.com, which, like any web request, shares your IP address and app version.
3. What the website collects
- Analytics: only if you accept in the cookie banner, the website loads Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful; Google then sets its own cookies. If you reject, Analytics is not loaded. You can change your choice any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer.
- Preferences: a "locale" cookie remembers the language you picked, a "cookie_consent" cookie remembers your cookie choice for 6 months, and your browser stores the theme you chose.
- Purchases: checkout runs in Paddle's window. Paddle collects your name, e-mail, country and payment details; we receive your e-mail, country and order details so we can send and manage your license. We never see your card number.
- License lookup: the key you type on the "My license" page is sent to our server only to show its status; it is not saved in your browser or the URL.
4. Why we use this information
- To deliver, activate and manage your license (performance of a contract).
- To answer your feedback and support requests (your request, our legitimate interest).
- To keep the service secure and prevent license abuse (legitimate interest).
- To understand how the website is used (consent or legitimate interest, depending on where you live).
5. Who else processes it
We share information only with providers that help us run Adanotch: Paddle (payments, tax and invoices, as Merchant of Record), Google Analytics (website statistics), Resend (sending license and support e-mails), Cloudflare (website delivery and protection) and our server hosting provider. We do not sell personal data.
6. Extensions and third-party services
Extensions are made by other developers and may connect to their own services if you grant them network access. Their handling of data is covered by their authors' policies. Adanotch shows each extension's permissions before you install it.
7. How long we keep it
License and order records are kept for as long as your license exists and afterwards as long as tax and accounting law requires. Feedback is kept until it is resolved and no longer needed. Server logs are kept for a short time for security.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Turkey's KVKK) you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Write to [email protected]; we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Children
Adanotch is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes and important updates are announced on this website. Questions: [email protected].
